This book touched my heart the way no other has. Knowing the plight of feral cats throughout the world, it is a wonderful feeling to read about and get to know the cats who have been lucky enough to come into the author's life.
Loving the Feral Soul is a true work of love - poignant, sad, but very real. It has obviously come straight from the author's heart. Any cat lover, especially those who have been lucky enough to be allowed to enter the life of a feral cat, will be humbled by the amount of energy Jean expends in not only taking care of his feral "lodgers," but in really getting to know them as well as is possible.
I felt I personally knew the author by the time I reached the end of Loving the Feral Soul.
For anyone who wants to help the homeless felines in this world, please read this book more than once. I have gotten something more out of it each time I have re-read it. Loving the Feral Soul is heartbreaking but beautiful. You will better understand the difficulty of trying to do the best for these special creatures after reading the words which are straight from the author's heart. Please don't miss it! |

My world must have been very small before I learned about feral cats. I was one of the many that either did not look, or didn't want to...that was until I read about Eliot.
This book, this mission, this passion and compassion changed my life. It led me to help a feral family of my own, and to always "look". Everyone should read this amazing book about an amazing man, and his true love for all creatures that shines through.
